There is a very simple way - switch the prefix to &#x and add a semicolon to
the end.

Which in CFML is this:
REReplaceNoCase( text , '\\u0*([0-9A-F]*)' , '&##x\1;' , 'all' )

And in JavaScript is this:
text.replace( /\\u0*([0-9A-F]*)/mgi , '&#x$1;' )

hi,

does anyone know how to convert javascript encoded unicode strings to
normal
html entities in coldfusion,
as im receiving a json packet and the strings in it are all encoded
"\uXXXX" style the json decoder script im using
doesnt convert these strings into coldfusion/html friendly strings, im
sure
there must be a simple way of converting them,
ive searched the net but couldnt find an answer,
