e.g. if personal data is collected on a server based in the UK within the EU and then exported (uploaded or synched) to a server in an alternative location outside the EU e.g. the US then there may be data protection issues, you may need to ensure that at the point of data collection sufficient detail is given to let the user know this transfer is happening.
