the other one to watch out for is onRequestEnd.cfm, which is the opposite of
application.cfm - it gets called at the end of any .cfm file. It's not widely
used though, so probably you won't have one.

CGI 'scope' gives you all the standard CGI variables. The quickest way to find
out what's available is turn on debugging, and take a look at the foot of the
page.

Other scopes include application, session, form, url, cookie, server, client.

Thanks for all the replies...

I'll check the application.cfm and .cfc if it exists when back to work on
Tuesday...

I'm guessing by this line: CGI.SCRIPT_NAME - that CGI is an object. What
scoping is that and what other common objects are available?

I've seen Application.xxx sprinkled about as well.

Are there any common entry and exit points when pages are called to pre and
post-process the pages?

I think I'm trying to dig into the inner working here but it'll help me
understand how it all pieces together... perhaps I need a beginners CF book.

Cheers guys!

Nick
