Allan, I realize you were responding to Kev and his list of resources, and I
trust you saw my later note, but to your point about the "1500 line wsdl
document for salesforce", that's something I address in my talks: there are
tools in DW and Eclipse (the Adobe Eclipse extensions) that can offer a
visual interface to browse a web service and even help build CFML code to
call its methods. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not a newbie to coldfusion as I've been using it for 8 or 9 years now
but I have not needed web services until now.
I have to link up my web database with the salesforce one, so I looked
around and found a 1500 line wsdl document for salesforce. That looked a bit
daunting so I decided it would be best to start with the basics and a few
simple examples. I couldn't find any on google, hence the request for maybe
a book.

I'll have a red though these and let you know how i get on.

Thanks again,
Allan

Russ,

That is such the wrong response for someone who runs a mailing list
for developers.
Comments like that put newbies off CF!

Also the ColdSpring framework can give you something to work against
too, with some of their examples
