Not sure of MYSQL Has them are can do it but I've used a SYNOM across MSSQL Databases before.

Thus have the SP in the one DB that affects them both.

Won't work, I'm afraid. First 'query' is actually a delete and the
second is an update - and all I need back is to know they both succeeded.

I'm currently looking at the possibility of using a MySQL stored
procedure. But at this point I don't know if this will work.

But thanks anyway!

Couple of really simple options off the top of my head -
1. Perform the two queries separately and then just do a query of
queries
to combine them
2. Create a view from one database to the tables in the other
database.
Then you can just combine the queries since they're in the same
datasource.

I seem to remember there was a way to do this by first stating the
database
in the table name, i.e.

myserver.mydatabase.tablename

but for the life of me I can't find the reference.

Good luck!

For the first time, I need to do this, but have become aware that a
standard <cftransaction> around two queries won't work, as CF8
insists
the datasources are the same (mine aren't).

For the sake of my sanity, can anyone point me in the right
direction? I
have been googling on this for an hour or more with no concrete
results.

(And please don't suggest I uodate to 9 - it isn't an option)

Cheers
Terry
