I know it wont lock, my point is that it will timestamp a record for the
purposes discussed.
So you could for example save the timestamp when editing the record then
compare it before saving, if it is different then you know someone else
has edited it in the meantime and thus stop it from saved, or give the
choice to overwrite prior changes.
