Thanks for the suggestion, but the other developer here had a bright
idea.

The Default Web Site still had the pending request, so we just installed
it by following that process in the Wizard on that site, then went to
the other web site, assigned the cert for that as well, then removed it
from the Default and deleted the 443 reference, restarted the service
and Bob's your uncle.
