you tried using the <CFIndex> tag to index your collection? From what I
understand, the collection can be stored where you like, and the
information you index can be stored where you like. These can be seperate
locations. So you might have your collection at C:
\Cfusion\Verity\Collections, but the files you index are at D:
\WWWRoot\Docs.
If you're adding a path, in the CF Administrator, that is just where the
collection gets stored, not where the data you index is stored, which I
guess might be where the confusion is?

Hi again,

Am having real trouble trying to use the built-in Verity functions on the
CF
server. Basically I have the CF server software on SERVER_A (which is also
where I will create my collections), but the directory I want to index is
on
SERVER_B.

However, when I go into Index on Verity Collections, I have to provide a
Directory Path for the information I want indexing. If I click on the
Browse Server button, then this only shows physical drives, and not mapped
drives (which is how I was hoping to link to SERVER_B). I've tried typing
in the mapped drive eg: h:\help\documents but this just comes back as an
error.

Does anyone have an idea how to do this? From what I can see, you can only
index documents on the same server as the CF server software, unless I have
a separate Verity server, which is not an option.

Thanks,

Karl O'Sullivan
