is your cfserver able to ping the mailserver? have the DNS changes had time to propagate? actually, it's not a DNS issue if the IP address doesn't work either. seems to indicate the cfserver can't find the route to the mailserver. you tried using a different mailserver address at another location?

CFAdmin says cannot connect but CFAdmin on our LAN connects fine and all the mailboxes are being delivered to and collected from without a problem. Using mail server name rather than IP address and as the DNS records have all been updated cannot see why this occuring.
