If your SMTP server has changed there a a variety of factors which could be affecting
your ability to connect. Are there any relaying restrictions on the new SMTP server
for example? If so then you may well be able to ping the host but making connections
will never happen.
Try opening up a DOS prompt on the server and telnet to the server on port 25 "telnet
mail.yadayada.com 25" and see what response (if any) you get. Let us know what you see.

Hi All,

Having a problem with CFMail on CF5, recently moved the mailboxes and now
CFMail doesn't work anymore. CFAdmin says cannot connect but CFAdmin on our
LAN connects fine and all the mailboxes are being delivered to and collected
from without a problem. Using mail server name rather than IP address and as
the DNS records have all been updated cannot see why this occuring. When I
use the IP address of the mail server it still doesn't connect, anyone got
any ideas??

TIA

Phil.
