Surely it depends on how time-critical the performance of the page is?
One judicious comment plus Paul's code for a big performance gain on a
page that's hammered a lot makes more sense, IMHO.

I mean, it's not *that* hard to see what it's doing (especially if
you've never used listQualify()).
