The script Duncan send obviously wont work in NN... (I believe). I am not
sure if you want the system onBlur to select a matching record etc, but it
should be able to be done by a simply array - unless you specifically want
to use the Windows values.

Subject: [ cf-dev ] OT: Javascript for drop-down lists

I'm after a bit of JS that mimics the effect of Windows Explorer, where
you quickly type, say, the first three letters of a filename and the
first file that starts with those three letters is selected.

I know putting focus on an html drop-down list and typing a letter takes
you to the first entry that starts with that letter, but typing a second
letter doesn't refine the selection, it just takes you to the first
entry that starts with that letter.

Anyone know of anything ready-built that does this? I'm thinking it
wouldn't be too difficult to write, but would probably struggle with the
timer aspect.

Thanking you.
