well i don't really understand where it is trying to save... the attachment is uploaded and saved in the appropriate place, the path to retrieve the attachment is perfect and then when you hit the page with the cfmail tag it throws the "error diagnostic information unable to write mail message to disk" error (error doesn't occur if you take off the attachment)
found a thread here with almost identical trouble but no real cure .... http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=messages&threadid=114 81&forumid=4 this is about the only thing i can find. the server hard disk has nearly 1.5GB of space the only place i can find a record of the mail is in the CFusion/Mail/Undelivr folder and each time this error message occurs the following gets written in to the CFusion/Log/mail.Log file: ""Error","4580","10/08/03","13:04:10",,"Failed to send the spooled mail file, C:\CFusion\Mail\spool\1B04.cfmail. SMTP server replied ""Cannot attach 'C:\CFusion\Mail\spool\1B04.cfmail' to the mail message. The file does not exist."" Moved file to C:\CFusion\Mail\undelivr\1B05.cfmail." going increasingly bald with hair being pulled out _______________________________________________________ * Regards, Richard Lovelock Westminster City Council - Web Support Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Southbank 95 Wandsworth Road London SW8 2HG ( 0870 906 7482 _______________________________________________________ -----Original Message----- From: Snake Hollywood [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 08 October 2003 13:08 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [ cf-dev ] error diagnostic information unable to write mail message to disk Your not trying to save to a UNC path are you ? > -----Original Message----- > From: Duncan Fenton [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: 08 October 2003 12:41 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: RE: [ cf-dev ] error diagnostic information unable > to write mail message to disk > > > Richard, > As someone else just hinted (though did not explicitly say) > you need to put quotes around the file name you're building. > > The error message is caused by the \ (reverse solidus) > which in context is the integer division operator. > HTH > Duncan Fenton > > -----Original Message----- > From: Lovelock, Richard J [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: 08 October 2003 10:05 > To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' > Subject: RE: [ cf-dev ] error diagnostic information unable to > write mail message to disk > > <snip> > then tried setting the session variable = > "#file.serverdirectory#\#file.serverfile#" rather than my original > code butgot a new message this time saying: > > ------------------------------------------------------- > Error Diagnostic Information > An error occurred while evaluating the expression: > > session.Filelocation = #file.serverdirectory#\#file.serverfile# > > Error near line 74, column 11. > ------- > Cannot convert paul.doc to integer. > -------------------------------------------------------- > > <snip> > * Regards, > Richard Lovelock > Westminster City Council - Web Support > Cap Gemini Ernst & Young > Southbank > 95 Wandsworth Road > London > SW8 2HG > ( 0870 906 7482 > > > > -- > ** Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/dev%40lists.cfdeveloper.co.uk/ > > To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > For additional commands, e-mail: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] For human help, e-mail: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > -- ** Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/dev%40lists.cfdeveloper.co.uk/ To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For human help, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ******************************************************************************************** " This message contains information that may be privileged or confidential and is the property of the Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Group.
