or for the long hand way if you're using access or a database without dts is to simply load the file using cffile into a variable and treat it as a list within a list. Use CRLF as the first delimiter and comma or whatever as the second list delimiter. The outer list is your records and the inner list is your columns. Loop through the record list and insert/update the records in the database using the column list.

Hmmm...1 way would be to upload the file to your server via the form and let
a DTS run to then import the data.....

I want to be able to do this.....

User names and addresses are entered to a database via a form.
The form consist of name address etc...
Ok this works great for adding an individual record.

The user now wants to be able to have say 500 records in a text or access
file.
Browse to this file and have the system automatically update the database
with the data.

Can this be done via the form? - I know I can import it directly to the database but I need it via the form online

Any ideas ....

Happy New Year.

Regards - Paul
