I think the point is that with this challenge, the solving algorithm has
access to the data for the whole maze while trying to solve it.

Normally you only consider that the solving algorithm is aware of the
current position and it's adjacent positions.

I'm not convinced that it makes any difference to the approach, but with
enough lateral thinking there might be a way to make use of that.
