That message should mean after the ColdFusion Application Server is restarted not the machine.

 

Although I’m not having a good day so I may be vastly wrong ! hehe

Hmm .. should be fine to just update it in the admin .. the change should be immediate, no need to reboot etc.

 

CF5 or MX ? (Don't think it matter though, should be the same for both)

If I make a change to the ip address of SMTP setting on CF Admin on a production box - what will need to be done to take affect:

 

CF restart?

server reboot?

nothing?

 

this is quite important as I have to advise if this change needs to be done out of hours (server reboot)????
