Apologies and slight clarification.

I was playing around a little bit more with the plugins. I've noticed two
things: there are bindings in 'viewport switcher' for moving back and forth
between desktops. There are also bindings for the same in 'desktop wall'. The
bindings in desktop wall are disabled by default, so I was using viiewport
switcher, and that's where I get the hesitancy. If I use the bindings from
desktop wall, I get nice, smooth transitions, very responsive, etc... but if I
use mousewheel bindings there, I lose the ability to scroll in applications.

What used to happen before was this: Desktop changes when I hover the mouse on
a blank portion of the desktop, and use the mousewheel - fluid animation with
no hesitancy.
