Hi,
I would like to brush up the compiz-manager wrapper script a bit and I
have set up a git repository at
http://git.debian.org/?p=users/tormod-guest/compiz-manager-upstream.git;a=summary
from where my patches can be pulled.

I am coordinating this with the Debian and Ubuntu compiz maintainers
and I will try incorporate useful downstream changes. I am also
looking at the Fedora patches. I see the current situation with heavy
downstream patching as suboptimal, and hope to unify it more.

My first changes are rather cosmetic (pedantic even) and trivial. For
the next steps, I think the blacklisting needs updating and maybe be
reworked. Another idea is to optimise the script and for instance
avoid repeated calls to glxinfo, which can be slow on some drivers.
Well, I shouldn't promise too much, but see what I can get done.

Some questions that I have for the moment:
1. Is support for Xgl still needed?
2. On which systems/shells should this run? I see at
http://git.compiz.org/fusion/misc/compiz-manager/ some compatibility
patches for "old shells".

Best regards,
Tormod
