Hi Bob,

Are there indications in your Xorg.log that it failed communicating with HAL?
I had recently exactly the same problem. In my case the reason for the problem
was as follows:
The standard x11 installation is relying on HAL to find out the input devices
for x11. The problem disappeared after I installed the "communication" fset
(which contains hald).
Another workaround was, of course, to create my own xorg.conf manually (which I
did before I figured out the hald dependency) ;)

Regards,
Marcel

Some more info. I got past the error Danny now has by picking a different
fset. Instead of picking "appframework", I picked "traditional desktop". This
got me to a nice desktop screen with green grass. On the EeePC the touchpad
didn't work so it was somewhat useless w/o a usb mouse.

Just throwing that out there. Lots of bugs still.
Bob
