The beaglebone black is very versatile. Use any 5 V barrel connector
power supply, with at least .5 A for headless mode. Alternatively you
may use a miniUSB (mini, not micro) cable.
If you enable the g_ether kernel module and configure the usb0 network
interface you can use a single miniUSB cable for both power and
ethernet over USB. It's very handy and portable.
