Also, imo your patch assumes too much to be "generic" - not every
mailserver is SQL based or has an SQL api.
If you don't have an SQL api, just change the code in password.inc tu
use your provider's api :-)
But I totally agree the feature is important - the need for a plugin
API is getting bigger and bigger. ;-)
