Hello,

The basic definition of Tizen:Generic is: it's not a vertical but rather an horizontal distro (a cross-vertical if you prefer). The idea is to put inside Tizen:Generic the base system and the most common components (previously in Tizen:Common).

All kind of images are to be supported:
- architectures: we build actually in ia32 and x86_64. armv7 and arm64 will come soon
- display system: support X11, wayland or wayland+X proxy
- support raw images and liveusb

So regarding your question, Tizen:Generic/armv7/X11 shouldn't be far from mobile, except that the specific components won't be installed. This image should be installable on a RD-PQ. The same applies to Intel based mobile platforms.

Regards,

Stéphane

Hello all,

I wish to add some details about the Tizen:Generic kernel:
- we forked from IVI kernel and added support for more hardware (x86_64 build, a
lot of extra modules etc.). We plan to have the generic kernel aligned on the
latest stable kernel and share efforts with Artem to maintain both kernels (IVI
and Generic).
- the generic kernel should be created soon in gerrit (see
https://bugs.tizen.org/jira/browse/TINF-397)
- meanwhile, we have the Tizen:Generic kernel hosted on github:
https://github.com/eurogiciel-oss/tizen-kernel-generic
- the tizen:generic project is active on the Tizen OBS:

Hi,

Have a basic question: "generic" for what? which vertical(s) are you
trying to cover? I don't think you would want to make "mobile"
included...
