Hi Matt,

can you comment on what you would expect how such a tool would work?
What exactly should the tool treat as the same?

Exactly all metadata-fields of tracks? Probing audio-samples? Taking
embedded/not embedded cover-art into account? Codec-details also? Bitrate and
also sample-rate (in case the CD-DA is available as well as ripped and
transcoded variants)? Comparing the track-duration?
We already analyzed that in detail and were able to get “fair” results, but not
perfect results – our validation team is hard to beat ;-)

Media-aggregation usually is not really “cleaning” content, the users usually
are very aware of their content plugged into the system.

Best regards,
Markus

Thanks, I am being cheeky really and trying to use it in DLNA and mass storage
mode at the same time; ultimately a customer will do it one day!
More details on the device : http://www.eggcyte.com/

If anyone suggest a list clean up tool, i'd gladly look at it?

Kind Regards

Matt Jones

Is this a Memory device on USB and a DLNA device because as Aaron has stated
this could be the issue, I would suggest trying to display as separate lists,
if you do find any duplicate removal software this will be really good for MM
project when we come to implement list aggregation.

What's the code that's generating the list? MediaManager's lists are
generated by it's browser object, on a given container.
