Non-existing JavaDocs is a problem in itself, but even with the current
state, I expect to be able to find the current JavaDocs (i.e. for the
latest stable release) through a generic search on the Internet.

If the result is a page with just the auto-generated stuff and no real
explanations, then I at least know that I can stop searching.
