 ) : we shouldn't flip the default-points-everywhere switch until we know that 
we won't screw users who depend on functionality that doesn't work with points.

Hoss, Tomás and I have been working to nail down (and address) Solr points 
deficiencies, and that process continues, hopefully reaching conclusion before 
the first 7.0 RC.  Right now I'm working on SOLR-10796, should have a roughly 
complete patch up for it today.
