+1 especially to the nifty links pointing to the docs. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-10888 idea was/is for use of V2 API and introspection to create an almost self-generating python script to access the V2 APIs. Having introspective functionality in the admin UI would have wider reach though I imagine.
