[~dsmiley] It would be challenging to discuss highlighting, in the context of
this thread, without also discussing offsets. If you are asking me whether that
particular feature in UnifiedHighlighter will solve my problem, based on my
current understanding, answer would be 'no'. I can explain more if you want me
to.
To solve my problem, either offsets have to go backwards or I have to rewrite
my search logic to treat adjacency on either side differently.
