Hi,

I'm sure you're aware of this already, but just in case! ;-)

The most notable content hosted on h.a.o relevant to the Lucene project that I can think of is the Lucene nightly benchmark data and results, that are in Mike's home dir [1]. As well as some vector datasets that are referenced from luceneutil, e.g. in Mike Sokolov's home dir [2].

Do we need to do anything here to migrate, backup, etc, any of this data?

-Chris.

P.S. sorry if this has been discussed already, but I was not able to find it.

Hi All.

A few thousand of you have content on the box known as home.apache.org <http://home.apache.org> , formerly people.apache.org <http://people.apache.org> and others may even remember when it was on a box called minotaur.

History lesson over, there is several hundred GB worth of data on the box and we are asking that for those that think they may have data on the home.a.o box to login via sftp and download that data for safekeeping.

This is a full deprecation of the box, there will be no replacement.

The community development project has also been notified so that they may move existing services.

I noticed that many of you were using home.a.o to host release candidates ,that was never what it was intended for so please use the approved methods of dist.apache.org/dev/ <http://dist.apache.org/dev/> or nightlies.apache.org <http://nightlies.apache.org>, thanks.

We have a timeline of 4 weeks to get this done. Let's go with the date of Thursday 12th September. Please email users@infra.a.o if you need any assistance (i.e using sftp to browse/grab your data).

We do not like emailing all committers if we can help it so we apologise if this does not affect you. For those few thousand it does affect, there will be no reminder email, thank you.

Kind Regards

Gavin McDonald (ASF Infra)
