I'll try to take a look at it but I am pretty pessimistic about the possibility to write any sensible Java code that runs with permgen exhausted... It's pretty much end-of-the-world to me. I just don't want to allocate everything statically (a nightmare) and hacks like allocating a class loader with a pool of dummy classes just to release it on permgen errors are nearly guaranteed to fail with some other error sooner or later.
I'll try to make the forked VMs more resilient to these errors so that they at least quit; even if they do so without logging sensible just-before-the-apocalypse errors.
