Jeff Eastman commented on MAHOUT-825:
-------------------------------------

-2 Sorry Paritosh, but computeParameters() resets the Gaussian statistics every
time it is called. This patch breaks Canopy and turns it into a different
clustering algorithm altogether.

And I, at least, do see harm in adding this still-experimental outlier
elimination scheme to only one of the clustering algorithms. It is clearly not
specific to Canopy and we have enough one-off, inconsistent features in Mahout
already.

> While finding closest canopy, there is no check to ensure that it returns
> canopies which are within distance t1 from the point. This results in
> incorrect result i.e. Points outside t1 are grouped in canopies.
