Thanks Paritosh, I'm sure you can get assistance with the mirrors and other problems you may encounter.

On the release itself, we still have 11 open issues that are preventing us from entering code freeze. Of these, 6 are marked as low priority and only one is marked as critical. Do we want to:

A - punt all non-critical issues to 0.8
B - punt all low priority issues to 0.8 and wait for the others to be resolved
C - punt all open issues to 0.8 and get on with the release
D - delay the target date for code freeze until 1 June and reassess then

I would like to volunteer for the Release Engineer.

I have read the how to release page.
I am comfortable with the maven release plugin and also nexus ( I have once released maven lucene plugin to nexus ). However, I am not comfortable with the mirrors and the packaged website/news thing, so, would need some help there.

If someone else wants to do it, then also I have no issues.

We need a volunteer to become the Release Engineer for the upcoming 0.7 Mahout release. Shannon took this on last release and reported the instructions (https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/MAHOUT/How+to+release) were excellent and the process went smoothly.

We are in the last stages of completing/triaging outstanding issues for this release and I would hope we can get to code freeze within a week.

Volunteers?
