Hello, I come from a mathematical background and am new to Java. However I have extensively worked on collaborative filtering algorithms using MATLAB. I would like to start contributing to Mahout, is it possible to start in a small way and learn how things work and then start with serious algorithms. Any kind of advice is appreciated. Thank you.
