My suspicion is now that we are somehow trying to use the same http connection 
for all of the Solr connections, and that is leading to this issue.  When more 
than one document is being posted at exactly the same time, all but one 
document is aborted.

I'm raising this issue to a potential show-stopper for 1.1.
