David Morana commented on CONNECTORS-1017:
------------------------------------------

Yes, I agree with you completely; however the folder in question is owned by
IT-Security and they are paranoid and don't want their stuff crawled/indexed.
I've tried to argue that Livelink already indexed their documents and as long
as they are permissioned properly there shouldn't be a problem.
I also tried suggesting moving the folder to the top of the enterprise
workspace; that way we can have the crawler start below it in the hierarchy
and it won't be crawled.

> Can we add a way to exclude documents or folders from being crawled on the
> Livelink connector?

> This is related to CONNECTORS-1016.
> End users are trying to "hide" certain folders and docs by removing owners
> and owner groups and some of these contain highly restricted info so users do
> not want these indexed at all.
> I propose creating a special group called "DoNotIndex" in Livelink and if the
> MCF sees that group on any folder or document it will exclude it from the
> crawl.
> So this way we're not managing a huge black list in the MCF and this gives
> end users an easy way to exclude objects from the crawl.
> What do you think?
