We also tried including an "apache-release" profile in the MCF root pom. This
executed but did *not* override the profile definition in the parent pom. So
no joy there.
At this point I think perhaps the best approach would be to forget about using
any parent pom targets/profiles, and instead copy what we need out of that
parent pom, modifying it to suit MCF's requirements. Maurizio, do you agree?
