We can simply copy the apache-release profile of
https://repository.apache.org/service/local/repositories/releases/content/org/apache/apache/16/apache-16.pom
into the ManifoldCF root pom.xml and call it "release", changing only the
assembly plugin part.
I'll give it a try and keep you posted.
