We leave it to the Mac team to push the product it favors. If someone asks, What about OOo on the Mac? I usually respond by promotint the X11 build, mention the active development and support, and then finish by mentioning that an excellent derivative, Neo/J, also works well. There are many who actually prefer the X11 port--it's pretty good!
Neo/J is not available from our archipelago of mirrors; it is a derived product. But it is also very good, and offers Mac users a more familiar environment and is easier to install.
