The standard is not the current OpenOffice.org 1.0 document format but OpenDocument 1.0 which is developed at the standard body OASIS and will be an ISO standard aswell. OpenDocument 1.0 will be the native format for OpenOffice.org 2.0 and office suites based on it - and the KDE office suite Koffice 1.4.
