Hello Stefan,
Right, the branding came from the logo, but who designed it ? We want to understand who that was and why he did it?
This is important for art providing the guide style book for OOo.

Hi,
I am interested in finding out how the OpenOffice.org Logo and other visual elements were created.
More specifically I'd like to find out:
1. How the seagulls idea appeared, what was the intention, why they
were choosen.
2. How were created the other elements like *waves*, *colors*, *fonts*, etc in therms of *ideas*, *intention*, *thoughts*, etc.
Is there record of old such discussions on any list ?
I don't think so. IIRC all part of the branding are derived from the logo and this was created for the launch of the OpenOffice.org project in July 2000.
You might want to contact Christian (cj) regarding the waves. He introduced the waves with 1.1.0.
Greetings Stefan
