Nicu has created a Beta splashscreen using the old image since November if I remember correctly and Jacqueline attached it to Issue 36491:

I guess it only needs converted to BMP.
The initial plan was to introduce the winning entry starting with the RC's and because at that time Beta seemed to be near Nicu's beta splash looked like the solution.
