Here is a quick bio on them, seems that Novell and Adobe had something to do with them for a while.

I have just had a rather disturbing phone call from a client school. Apparently some FAST (Federation against Software Theft) bully has just been scaring them to death about software licensing, mentioning prison sentences and such like and then offering to audit their systems if they pay 5000.
The only good side to this is that it seems to have convinced the deputy head involved that they really ought to have a Free software strategy. My advice is for any school threatened in this way to say that they have just been convinced that its time to shift all their systems to Open Source. The risk of using proprietary software is simply too great.
