I totally agree with this approach (although I think that promoting the "GIMPshop" variation of GIMP would make it more user-friendly), but I'm wondering what the company is doing in terms of support for users. Although most of us know that there is a lot of support out there for OOo, most people don't know where to find it and won't take the time to purchase (or otherwise acquire) the software for their business unless some sort of support is included. If CompareSoft is including a support package along with the sale, I think this will be a great boon to OOo and GIMP. The real danger is that if they are not going to offer support, then they could end up with a lot of customers who feel "ripped off" when they discover that the same products can be downloaded for free.

So what are the other apps? I'm guessing CompareWeb is Firefox, Thunderbird, and Nvu, and that "ComparePublish" is Scribus. What is "Gizmo Phone"?
