Hi...
I am very curious where this will end...
it will end with a us-based nonprofit soon. :-)
I'd like to get it set up before March, if possible.
I have thought about a EU business operating from Brussels to
sponsor, market and manage open source projects...
The thing is, there are already several. For instance, last year if
not before, we were going to use one of them for earmarked functions
but they charged a fair amount. Newer ones don't and they are pretty
good. See Mutualibre and Cusoon.
For now, I'd like to get the proposed nonprofit the CC will consider
done. I see nothing wrong with a multiplicity of nonprofits,
provided that they don't cannibalize each other's funds--always a
possibility :-/--and that we have one major recipient for OOoCon, and
other globally important events. (okay, gobally important to *us*)
ciao,

I am not quite sure that we see the same thing when talking about a
business.
How substantial are their funds? The thing is... I could use the
possibity to access some venture capital from major investors on EU
market if presented a good project.
What I want to do is give the opportunity to projects that have a good
technical base for their project, to benefit from experience of the
board of that company to get it in to the open. A good marketing
strategy for a project that feeds a need in the market will receive all
necessary funds.
Support and integration will be the commercial side of the company.
