Perhaps the Marketing Project is not a Cathedrel, (I don't think it is at all), but I do see the website itself as much more of a Cathedrel than a Bazaar. This discussion should probably be taking place on the website mailing list - but I doubt anyone involving in this discussion other than Louis is a member of that list. I don't even know the proper address forthat list.

I'm not trying to attack Louis or OpenOffice.org or anybody. Just pointing out my personal frustration with the way changes are made to the website inregards to this discussion.
Understood. Unfortunately--and I don't really like this either--we use SSH2 + CVS for the website. I'd rather we didn't; SSH2 is difficult for Windows users. However, the CVS for the website is also the same as for the code, so the security for one extends to the other. The result is as you describe it: a pain.
I'll fix the files. Done. BTW, IssueZilla is preferred not because it is more formal but because one tends to lose track of emails. Also, if you file an issue to a project, then anyone there can fix it. For instance, there are many on website who can fix small problems like this.
