Yes, I am disappointed and frustrated. I also watched a lot of things happen
here during the last year. The best thing that happened was the Get legal -
Get OpenOffice.org campaign. That was most original thing I have ever seen
come out of this project. It is brilliant. It is, sadly, the only really
original thing I've seen that was readily accepted. A lot of other ideas
seem to get lost in the politics here. I would expect that from a large
corporation, but not a volunteer community. Perhaps I expect too much.

As you probably know, I too (and many others on this list) have been greatly disappointed with the Marketing Project in the past, but several things have happened this year that have encouraged me.

The Get Legal campaign is one of them. The Marketing wiki is another. Although the wiki is an internal thing, it was set up and encouraged very rapidly, after years of politics getting in the way of anything happening along those lines.

The new Marketing lead and co-lead have shown themselves to be much more responsive and visibly involved and encouraging of new ideas than the previous lead (whose valuable work was mostly offstage). Whether all of this will result in more original ideas being adopted remains to be seen, of course, but I am much more hopeful than I was a year ago.
