Dear OpenOffice.org team,

On June 15, the Netherlands Java Users Group NL-JUG will organise a conference
called
J-Spring. On this conference I will do a presentation about the (Java) API for
OpenOffice.org. See

http://www.nljug.org/pages/events/content/jspring_2006/sessions/?template=showprogram.html

Sorry, the conference program is in Dutch but I'm sure you'll be able to pick
out my
presentation. My intentions are to first do a brief historic overview of OOo,
then cover
the basics of UNO, then cover some basics of the Java API and finally show some
examples
of what the API is capable of. At this moment I do not intend to address the
topic of
extending OOo through the Java API.

In the past I have been a member of the Sun StarOffice support team of Matthias
Panczyk
in Europe. The main part of the team is based in Hamburg, Germany, but I was
one of the
few Dutch team members. During my work for the support team I have first
encountered the
Java API for StarOffice. Ever since I have occasionally written simple Java
programs to
do StarOffice/OOo tasks for me.

In order to get some help preparing my presentation I am looking for someone to
answer a
few questions for me. I am particularly interested in getting info about the
compatability of OOo with MS Office, since I am sure I will get some questions
about
that.
Would you please allow me to send you some questions regarding this topic? If
you cannot
help me with this, would you please provide me with contact details of someone
who can?

Many thanks in advance for your kind answer.

Kind regards,

Wouter van Reeven
