I agree.

Well, besides Eric's tension in the topic - which i think is indeed a
bit harmful, though I'm sure he has his reasons - I think he's right in
making a point that it's too different projects. The NeoOffice site
states that more or less clearly.

Just because they also support ODF doesn't make them OpenOffice.org.
Abiword and KWord support ODF, too. To my taste, the terms OpenOffice
and OpenDocument have not been separated enough in the media, recently.
We should keep a clear distinction here, because promoting ODF is a
completely different thing than promoting OpenOffice.org.

Well, i think that is just your decision in the end. You can initiate an
OpenOffice.org ad or you can initiate a OpenOffice.org & NeoOffice ad.
In this particular point i agree with Eric that a pure OpenOffice.org ad
is better. But simply because it ads too much complexity to the ad (not
graphically, but in content). If you'd do a Mac-only ad, I'd say put
them both there. If you do a opensource office products ad, put them
both there and add Abiword and KWord. If you do a ODF ad, add Workplace,
StarOffice and Wordperfect as well. But if you do a cross-platform
OpenOffice.org ad, stay with OpenOffice.org only.

However, if you include NeoOffice, go to the NeoOffice folks and get
them to promote the ad from their side as well.

BTW: The new ad mockup looks way better. Still, next time, please
coordinate your efforts with [email protected] . That's what
we are there for.

André.
