Mary Jo Foley's blog on ZDNet has some interesting comments regarding file
format incompatibilities being introduced into MSO 2007:

There apparently appears to be no plan by MS to solve this problem,
creating a situation which could be leveraged by OOo. However, the window
of opportunity in that particular case is probably only a few months
because after that, users that have not found a solution on their own are
obviously content to wait it out indefinitely.
