Hi I have a great talk with some python programmers, I find out that we
could be doing a great benefit to our OOo community by promoting OOo as a
devleopment platform to developers. Poor documentation and a very complex
API has hurt us in the past, however some of the work done already by
early adopters might make the learning curve of the API and the
development efforts much more simpler for specialist to jump into the OOo
wagon.
Recently I bought a Magazine with an article on PyUNO, the script was
pretty interesting and I might say, inspiring. Even if our python version
is old it still has a lot of development potential by just exploding the
core libraries that the internal python ships with.
So jargon aside I think a good campaing on contacitng SIG, User Groups and
on-line communities might be a great way to lure to the developer
communities out there. This could also be a framework to go to other
languajes such as C++, Java, Mono etc.
A good way to start contacting international developers is on the Python
User list page, thanks to our Native-Lang efforts can go a long way.
