Hi there,

I want to start a discussion about our current logo license.

I think it is okay that our logo is not free, especially to prevent abuse of it. However, the current process of getting a OK to use it is too complicated.

Often, the same situations are being asked for - usage for book covers or for articles. Generally, usage for these purposes can be granted, and is being granted. However, the normal process involves writing to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] list, where it often gets ignored due to a high spam volume. Moreover, often local MarCons have to translate the request, send it to the list and forward the reply to the original sender in their native language.

Too much work for a simple "OK, you can use it". :-) What I propose is:

- Either modify the license so that the logo can be used for a certain set of purposes, like the ones mentioned above, under some rules, like not modifying it or abusing it.

- Or allow the local MarCons to decide - inside the given rules - that by themselves.

Each of these would make the current process much easier.

Florian
